Radeon kernel driver power management bugs
Date: 2012-05-28 08:15 am (UTC)Also the radeon opensource driver in Linux kernel is quite broken regarding power management. On multiple non-Apple laptops the default radeon driver power_profile "default" makes the laptop overheat and do an emergency thermal shutdown. The "workaround" is to switch to using power_profile "low", but sometimes the machine will crash due to overheating before you even get to userspace to change that power_profile!
