Say we wanted to give the "make 99 more of Matthew Garrett" approach a try anyway. How does one learn to dump firmwares and reverse engineer binaries? Can you recommend any learning resources to train up a next generation of hobbyist IoT security auditors?

Is lesson one perhaps "don't live in a country with anti-circumvention laws?"
