I remember when the FSF guys insisted that Tivoization was infringing (even when they had to change the license to make it so), and the kernel developers didn't think so. Your advice to me is a bit like Stallman telling Linus he's definitely being taken advantage of, and Linus being ok with it anyway, because the two of them have different definitions of what being taken advantage of means.
It's kind of sad when the pragmatists are the ones ok letting other people do things they wouldn't personally do, and the proponents of "Free" are the ones trying to control other people's behavior "for their own good".
