I managed to install fedora17 on my macbook2,1 by using dd from the 32bits cd-image to an usb stick (64bits fails to load grub, and burning the 32bit image wasn't working either)
Got to the grub menu then the laptop screen went blank, but the usb stick was still blinking so I plugged in my external monitor and it was working! I was able to install everything fine!
But fedora on my hdd behaves the same way that the usb live image. after choosing the grub option, the laptop screen goes blank and the external display starts to work.
I can't use the laptop display within fedora it doesn't get detected. 'xrandr -q' shows only VGA and DVI outputs, no LVDS
