Not opening something means not having to review it. This saves time, which means money.
Reviews are obviously required: not just to make sure there is actually no confidential content, but also to make sure there is no copyright problem, no quality problem, etc. Big companies unfortunately cannot afford to "just release" stuff, especially not when their bank account is well in the black. Sorry.
