I'm not sure that's correct. It seems like the only way to make the device accessible post boot is to either appear to be Darwin, or configure one of two pcie devices. Though it seems that you should be able to toggle its state through the appropriate gpio address, though I'm not sure gpio works unless the device is registered at boot. If you can toggle post boot then I don'tdon't know why he bothered with the os spoofing unless he was simply fixing problems as he came upon them.
