I'd love to bow out gracefully, but some folks seem eager to drag a discussion from two years ago and claim that I have said things and believe things which I do not believe. I'll let people decide for themselves whether my beliefs make me a "rape apologist" or not.
And if mjg would prefer not to interact with me, he certainly has that right. But he seemed to be demanding an apology, and I'm afraid the only apology I can give is that I regret having entered that discussion two years ago, and I would regret it if anyone thought my statements were in any way encouraging rape or rapists. I don't think they can be twisted that way, but clearly (as we've seen with political advertisements in the US) people can be very clever in how they twist words to demonize other people.
