Why disable Secure Boot? That's entirely unnecessary. This is what you do:

1) Insert USB stick
2) Turn on computer
3) Hold down shift, click power icon, select restart
4) Select "Use other devices"
5) Select the USB stick

which is *exactly the same thing you do on any other Windows 8 system*.
