How about writing a front-end for LightDM that's aimed directly at blind...visually impaired...color-blind....
Better yet, do that and make it easy to switch between them (say, a key on the keyboard, or a voice command, or...). And you don't need to write your own implementation to do all this. That's what libraries are for. Use them.
