Fear, uncertainty and doubt Read your post and is exactly what you are doing (as always against Ubuntu project). I read the same against LightDM, trying to discredit other open source project because is Ubuntu/Canonical.
How to do a good FUD :
First construct a base of lie as the truth : Lie : "The first is that if GPLv3 code is shipped as part of a user product, it must be possible for the user to replace that GPLv3 code". You can lock a device. Gplv3 or not.
After begin with some Fear and doubt : - "They can relicense Mir (and any other GPLv3 projects they own) under licenses that keep their hardware partners happy " Fear and doubat about about proprietary relicence And contruct on the top of the FUD building your big Theory : - "Instead you end up with a situation that looks awfully like Canonical wanting to squash competition by making it impossible for anyone else to sell modified versions of Canonical's software in the same market."
And all this part based on 0 fact (no source). Only ugly FUD... (But I'm not surprised)
But sorry you are in the right side and you have right to write some FUD and do some non-constructive message. If a Ubuntu Dev write a wrong think in a wiki we have a worldwide storm of insult. If good open-source guy like you do the same it's good and just... Here is the "moral" for some guys in open source community: You can do what you want if you are in right side.
Judge people on fact and action not on some idiot theory based on nothing !!!
