I'm fairly sure that Mir (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mir_(display_server) , https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Mir/ , https://launchpad.net/mir) is the canonical (sorry for the pun) name for the server.
If you have an issue with the name, take it up with Canonical. Matthew is quite correct in calling it that.
