Unfortunately, they misled you - take http://www.markshuttleworth.com/archives/1269 (http://www.markshuttleworth.com/archives/1269) for example, where Canonical's senior management use "Mir" to refer to the display server. As a result of Canonical's actions, Mir is now the public name for the display server, not just a code name.
Might be time to chase them again, see if they'll rename?
