The product got quite some native advertising in the german IT-press. You can gues, that the development-costs were high. In order to make it affordable to the public, the company includes things like the boot-guard, you mention. At the local LUG we had two theme-evenings about UEFI and we dealt with that PC. The situation is that it will not boot from Harddisk in UEFI-mode, and when you ask Intel, they really recommend, to use legacy-mode instead. So you have a super-modern, super-innovative PC and you have to run it in legacy-mode, because you are not using Windows. This is clearly the reason for me, why not to buy such products.
