If you don't want to associate it with the trademarks, you have to remove all trademarks. Canonical refuse to clarify whether they mean merely use of trademarks that would be infringing, or all trademarks. Regardless, if you aren't going to associate your work with the trademarks, you have to recompile the binaries from source.
