What makes you think they'd be detected. Customs does not have the expertise, or the time, to check every box of electronics for this sort of stupidity. And the prevalence of substitute, poorly secured, generic devices relabeled as better quality, previously approved devices is a problem ranging from high quality network security devices such as firewalls to children's toys. Forgeries *will* get through.
