Also, as a semi-related aside, here are a few resources that might be food for thought: https://www.iep.utm.edu/law-phil/, https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/lawphil-nature/, and https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/linguistics-and-philosophy/24-235j-philosophy-of-law-spring-2012/. It might be interesting to consider how various thinkers have tackled problems like the above. It's not directly related, but the resources linked above might prove to be useful in providing more context for philosophical issues like this. The IEP and SEP links are generally of high quality too. I think it's interesting to consider what has worked and what hasn't historically. Hm...
