Red Hat is not very different from Google, ie companies that seek to profit from Linux, eg Red Hat Linux Enterprise/Fedora, ChromeOS/ChromiumOS and Android.
Whatever their developers propose for the Linux kernel should not negatively impact the average Linux users, eg by locking-down their Linux kernel during the install of the Linux distro. The lockdown of the Linux kernel should be opt-in and be separate from the UEFI Secure Boot setting.
