I'd prefer if we pummel the UEFI consortium and MS back in their cages and just kill this illegal Windows tying scheme dead before it hurts anyone.

"We" killed the Intel Processor Serial Number. "We" killed Palladium. "We" killed Trusted Computing. I'm sure "we" can kill this harebrained scheme too.

No need for contorted workarounds.
