You indicate that MS's statement doesn't contradict what you've said in any way. But in your first post you said:

If the OEM allows the user to disable secure boot, as many likely will, then there's no reason the PC will not be able to boot a generic copy of Linux. So right away you appear to be contradicted on a very important point.
You go on to say that you're aware of several OEMs who won't allow this disable option. I assume that means your employer is aware. So why not name names? Are these major OEMs, minor ones? One, five, fifty? I find the lack of detail here disturbing. If you're demanding that MS be totally transparent, even on issues they don't directly control like what options an OEM provides, you should at least be forthcoming with those detail so that others can see how widespread or minor this issue is. In the absence of the detail, I'm forced to conclude that it's so minor you're embarrassed to list it.
