The Clear Foundation wikipedia page was clearly written by a PR person and is trying to make it look like a "community" distribution. The obsession with "Clear" is also a little worrisome given how big that term is in Scientology and the weirdness you dug up in the membership agreement, but a quick search doesn't show any obvious links.
