If the company uses Google Workspaces then bookmark syncing between multiple browsers should be a native feature of their Google accounts within the corporate walled garden. If your IT department has consented to letting Google handle the corporate email and likely document sharing in Google Drive then bookmarks won’t be the most sensitive data hosted by that provider and employees wanting ti to host less sensitive data with a or existing cloud provider than the IT department has already decided to host with them is a fairly small expansion of the attack surface of a company.

Still, virtualized workstations are a bad idea currently and likely for a long time into the future. I think in the future a combination of a latency focused interface and near universal low latency fiber to the home could make this feasible for some workloads, but even still the physics of light may never allow a virtual workstation to become useable enough that it isn’t a productivity loss that quickly offsets any hardware costs.
