What about custom keys? There can be a hardware switch/jumper which puts the computer BIOS to configuration mode and then you can add any kind of custom certificate you want.

Just like their is a BIOS jumper to lock the changes to BIOS software. We can use the same jumper to boot into a BIOS configuration mode which allows the change.
This is very simple. It is very generic and it gives you the control to your PC. And anyway, if you have access to the hardware, you should be able to do anything with it right?
