So true. Not to mention that changes to a spec like this are probably difficult enough to pull off as is (thanks for working on it btw), without requiring all manufacturers to add new easily accessible switches to their hardware...

To the people suggesting HW changes: try selling this idea to the manufacturer of a 160€ netbook -- they'll probably die laughing if you suggest adding even 2 cents to unit cost for the purpose of allowing other OSes.
