It matters because it's obvious to any reader who understands the area in more than a cursory fashion that the FSF is either wrong, or lying through its teeth to get you to believe that there's a problem with TPMs, but not with Protected Video Path and similar technologies.
If I know that the FSF is either completely wrong or dishonest on a subject where I understand what's going on, why would I trust it on anything?
